Road to Andalusia

Actually, this is not the 'history'. This is my-story.

The first plan was actually backpacking. But it then turn up we had to cancel the backpacking and I have to join a group of other friends. They were planning to go under Kelana Convoy.

I was actually thinking of low-budget trip. Hence, I really need to pray istikharah and ask for guidance. And Alhamdulillah... Allah reminded me of the permission and condition for a Muslimah in travelling. And travelling with a trustable agent is permissible in Islam.

We arrived one day earlier due to ticket price. So we're supposed to pay extra payment for the stay and food. eheh. But we tried to persuade KC because we're leaving earlier, hence the payment can be assumed compensated. KC agreed but in return, we need to help the cooking.

Of course its no problem to us than to pay the extra payment. And since the other group arrive quite late. :P

So we spent the first day by going to Rhonda, an old Roman city. Also because KC want to survey the potential there for their future trip. So there we went.

I think I've heard the name before. Perhaps from the book but I really couldn't find it in my memory. After reaching home, I searched about Rhonda and tadaaaa, it was the home of Abbas ibn Firnas. The first man who try to fly. And the first who tried to invent plane.

And he did fly. He was 72 years old during his successful attempt to fly. By using real feathers sewed to silk, he flew. The problem he forgot was how to land. He didn't notice the bird has tail to work as resistance during landing and he only got wings back then.

He fell, and suffered broken bones almost everywhere and not long after this fallen accident he died. May Allah bless his soul and his idea. Rhonda can be categorized as highland. Then it's no wonder Ibn Firnas inspired by the idea of flying.

And the scenery was breathtaking. Subhanallah. We're just a small, almost to nothing when compared to these greater creation of Allah.
